Timbers sign MF Franck Songo'o of Cameroon (AP)


The Portland Timbers have signed midfielder Franck Songo'o of Cameroon. Songo'o, who played for Cameroon in the Beijing Olympics, played last season for Spanish side Albacete. The 24-year-old has played in the top Spanish league as well as in the English Premier League, starting his professional career in 2005 with Portsmouth FC.
