A person familiar with the talks says Temple is in negotiations with the Big East about joining the conference in all sports next season. The person spoke Wednesday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the talks are still ongoing. Temple played in the Big East in football only from 1991-2004, but was forced out of the league.

Vanderbilt officials say the Atlantic Coast Conference has filed a formal complaint for one of its members with the Southeastern Conference involving the Commodores' football team. Vice Chancellor David Williams issued a statement Wednesday saying that Vanderbilt is complying with the SEC and also investigating the complaint as well.

Oregon State cornerback Malcolm Marable has been suspended indefinitely by the Beavers after he was cited for driving 104 mph on Interstate 5. State police say Marable was traveling northbound near Albany, Ore., when he was pulled over and cited early Sunday. The sophomore was also cited for failure to produce proof of insurance and registration for the Nissan Altima he was driving.

UAB coach Garrick McGee has promoted Jeff Brohm to offensive coordinator and hired John Peterson as offensive line coach. McGee announced the staff changes Tuesday.
